Senior Finance Operations and Reporting Manager (2 years) - Flutter Group

The Senior Finance Operations and Reporting Manager is a critical role in the Cluj organization, responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the company's financial and reporting operations, ensuring financial transactions and all reporting (local and group) are executed correctly and timely. This role is also instrumental in the development and implementation of financial processes, maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company, as well as its adherence to all relevant financial and tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all financial operations of the company, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, banking and auditor relationships.
• Oversee and manage the production of all financial reports, including group reports and intercompany recharges. Ensure the reports are accurate, timely, and comply with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Manage the preparation and submission of all necessary tax reports and filings. Liaise with tax authorities as required and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure the company's adherence to financial laws and guidelines, including liaising with auditors and tax authorities during financial or tax audits. Identify potential financial risks and assist the Finance Director in developing strategies to mitigate these.
• Lead and manage the finance operations team, providing coaching and feedback, and promoting continous professional development.
• Oversee and continously improve the self-development fund and location business travel process.
• Collaborate with peer leaders and the Finance Director to develop and implement the annual department strategy that aligns with the department, location and company objectives.
• Continuously review and improve financial reporting processes and internal staff-facing systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Evaluate and implement financial systems that increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external advisors, leveraging their expertise and guidance to remain current with evolving legal, tax, and regulatory changes, and effectively implementing these updates into the company's operational procedures and protocols.
• Making use of professional external advice, regularly assess the financial performance of the company and the transfer pricing policy in relation to Flutter Group, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. Communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including liaising with banks and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee and manage the Finance Operations roadmap of yearly projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in financial regulations, applying this knowledge to their role and continously sharing insights with the team.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant field and/or professional certifications such as ACCA are highly desirable.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in financial reporting, preferably in a senior role and in a similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards, including Romanian GAAP and IFRS.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a team and developing and motivating team members.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting financial information to a range of audiences.
• Proficiency in financial software and reporting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach, able to identify potential issues and take steps to prevent them.
