Ready to make a significant impact? We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BI Consultant within our Group Protection Business Intelligence team. In this role, you'll transform complex data into actionable insights, design innovative solutions, mentor talented analysts, and partner directly with Claims and Operations business leaders to drive data-informed decisions. What you'll be doing
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
- Lead end-to-end BI projects by taking ownership from initial concept and requirements gathering through to design, development, testing, and successful delivery.
- Analyze intricate business problems, architect robust and scalable data models, and create compelling reporting frameworks to develop impactful solutions.
- Creates dashboards & scorecards utilizing existing and newly developed metrics and performance monitoring approaches to provide management with quantifiable gauges of business performance & results and impact of plans and/or tactical initiatives
- Dive deep into data to identify critical trends and opportunities, translating your findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders
- Collaborate across the business closely with leadership, various departments, and technical teams to ensure BI solutions align with strategic needs.
- Drive operational excellence by continuously identifying and implementing improvements to data quality, processes, and the overall effectiveness of our BI function
- Serves as an ‘analytics champion’ educating the business to drive adoption and usage of data analytics to further business insights
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 5-7+ years of impactful, hands-on work experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a closely related field, including clear experience leading projects
- Expert-level SQL skills to write complex, efficient queries and tune performance with ease
- Strong practical ability to design, build, and maintain effective data models for analytical use cases
- Highly proficient in creating insightful, user-friendly dashboards and reports, ideally with strong experience in Tableau (or similar tool)
- Exceptional ability to understand business needs, evaluate solutions, solve complex problems, and think critically about data
- Proven track record as a strong collaborator and communicator
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in Insurance (Claims, Operations)
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with the Dataiku DSS platform
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automation
- Experience using VBA, especially within Excel
- A Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field
