We are currently seeking a Patient Intake Representative to work in a Patient Service Center in Oakland, CA. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. 

PIR’s may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics  

Pay Range: **$ 20.00 - $29.27

All job offers will be per hour  based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon appointment arrival  

  • Ensure a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors  

  • Assist patients with registration and check in procedures  

  • Data entry of patient demographics and billing information  

  • Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts  

  • Collect and prepare specimens for testing and analysis when needed  

  • Call physician offices to confirm the accuracy of test orders  

  • Monitor and log patient wait times on a regular basis  

  • Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner 

  • Promote and provide information about LabCorp patient services  

  • Manage office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels  

  • Open and close the office when required 

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary  

Job Requirements: 

  • Requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent 

  • 1-year health care data entry, medical insurance experience is preferred 

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal  

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment  

  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
