About the role

At Too Good To Go, we dream of a planet with no food waste.

We can all do our part in fighting food waste and do our bit to tackle climate change by reducing the amount of food wasted.  Did you know, more than one-third of all food produced gets thrown away? This unnecessary food waste equates to 10% of greenhouse gas emissions!

Too Good To Go is a food waste-fighting app and a certified B Corporation. We connect stores that have unsold, surplus food with consumers who buy and enjoy it. We save two meals every second, all thanks to our 2+ million daily users. We have over 80 million registered app users in 17 locations across Europe, the US and North America. Together, we have saved more than 235 million meals from going to waste. We are super proud of this, but there is still lots more that we want to achieve

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer - IOS, to be a part of our Product Teams that define, build and deliver our product features. As a Team Member in a product team, you will work towards specific outcomes with the freedom and responsibility to figure out the best way to achieve them together with the other Engineers and other Product Team members.

Your mission will be to help refine, design, implement, deliver and maintain various product features. 

As a Senior you will actively support your engineering lead in delivering a quality, maintainable and international top-class product, whilst being a role model for less-senior team members, by taking responsibility for problems and using your expertise to identify the right solutions.

The Tech Stack
We have an iOS App written in Swift using an MVVM Design Pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new features, whilst maintaining and improving existing code for the international Too Good To Go iOS app.
  • Release new versions and continuously monitor app performance and detect areas for improvement
  • Keeping user experience at the forefront of your work, at all times
  • Participate in mentoring, and coaching whilst actively giving and encouraging regular feedback with those around you.
  • Be an inspirational member of the team, ensuring those around you follow and trust your guidance and actions towards building the best long-term product
  • Be responsible by acting as an owner for problems which arise unless previously agreed, we will count on you to look at the bigger picture, even if this may fall outside of your usual day-to-day.

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Proficiency in programming native iOS applications in XCode/Swift
  • Being able to find good solutions to the challenges that come up
  • Proactive mindset and working well in a team environment
  • Experience with building scalable solutions.
  • Enjoys actively participating in a cross-functional product team.
  • Takes pride in writing quality code.
  • Preferably experience with REST API calls
  • Relevant degree in software engineering
