Are you interested in building innovative technology that crafts the financial markets? Do you like working at the speed of a startup, and solving some of the world’s most exciting challenges? Do you want to work with, and learn from, hands-on leaders in technology and finance?

At BlackRock, we are looking for Product Managers who like to innovate and solve sophisticated problems. We recognize that strength comes from diversity, and will embrace your outstanding skills, curiosity, and passion while giving you the opportunity to grow technically and as an individual.

We invest and protect over $11 trillion (USD) of assets and have an extraordinary responsibility to our clients all over the world. Our technology empowers millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home, and improve their financial well-being.

Being a technologist at BlackRock means you get the best of both worlds: working for one of the most sophisticated financial companies and being part of a software development team responsible for next generation technology and solutions.

Role Overview:
Join the Aladdin for Private Markets initiative, with a focus on building, implementing, and scaling Aladdin-native workflows for Private Credit IBOR and CLO post-trade processing. This includes supporting both internal “house” teams (Heritage BlackRock/PMG, HPS) and external Aladdin clients (e.g., Eldridge++).

This role is central to our Private Credit and CLO strategy. You’ll be joining a team that’s actively expanding in scope and size, addressing resource gaps, and scaling for future growth. Your decisions will influence dozens of engineers and shape the future of post-trade processing across Aladdin.

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead to drive engineering strategy and execution across CLO and Private Credit platforms. This Director-level role is ideal for a technologist with deep expertise in distributed systems, post-trade workflows, and Aladdin architecture. You’ll help shape scalable, resilient financial systems and lead cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the technical roadmap for CLO and Private Credit workflows, aligning with business goals and long-term vision.
  • Lead architectural decisions for mission-critical components, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Provide application software development services: code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
  • Analyze requirements and integrate application components with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and highly distributed systems.
  • Conduct performance monitoring, capacity planning, workload modeling, and predictive analyses to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • For mobile/web systems, contribute to planning and administering web systems hardware and server software, while maintaining website functionality and security.
  • Leverage post-trade/accounting SME knowledge to scale operational and lifecycle processing for Private Credit and BSLs.
  • Contribute to solutioning and architecture, incorporating client experience and scalability into design decisions.
  • Drive execution with PM Engineering and partner teams across Aladdin.
  • Attract, retain, and grow engineering talent while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in financial services, especially in CLOs, Private Credit, and Aladdin post-trade systems.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and data engineering.
  • Strong emotional ownership and ability to turn vague plans into concrete action.
  • Demonstrated impact across an ecosystem of related products and services spanning multiple teams.
  • Unafraid to tackle ambitious projects without fear of failure.
