Job Summary 

The Starbucks Barista provides guests with prompt service, quality beverages, and food products, while maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment. This role supports Rock City Enterprises’ mission of creating Memories Worth Repeating by ensuring every guest receives consistent, high-quality service and products. Under the direction of the Starbucks Manager, the Starbucks Barista performs the following duties:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent guest service to internal and external customers in alignment with Rock City Enterprises’ mission, culture, and values.
• Model appropriate guest and partner interactions at all times.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, as well as all cashier-related duties.
• Assist with restocking merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Follow operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace to ensure efficiency and accessibility of resources.
• Prepare and serve beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently, adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Adhere to Starbucks’ and Rock City Enterprises’ employment policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bar, back of house, and café environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education& Experience

• Current high school student participating in a Work-Based Learning program. 
• Previous food service or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to receive training is required.

Skills

• Positive, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to provide friendly, engaging, and professional guest interactions.
• Effective verbal communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to read and understand training and operational documents.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using U.S. currency.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and balance regularly.
• Regular use of hands and fingers.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds.
