Mission

• You will support production assembly lines to troubleshoot and repair flight hardware.
• You will be responsible as the first level of FAL engineering support to disposition standard production anomalies and provide repair direction.
• You will be the technical referent for the flight mechanical support engineers and technicians.
• You will implement and validate off-nominal repairs and processes.
• You will lead production standard repair trainings with coordination of the Integrated Production Manager (IPT), Supervisor, and/or Training Manager.
• You will be responsible to support or create processes for flight hardware rework and repairs.
• You will support Production Quality Engineering on work instruction reviews, Process Failure Mode Engineering Analysis (PFMEA), and First Article Inspections (FAI).
• You will identify process and design failure modes and propose corrective actions and solutions.
• You will be responsible for implementing any change on the FAL, coming from flight / ground design or processes changes.
• You will liaise with MGSE Team to design and/or improve the MGSE needed for production, and support their implementation
• You will oversee the Maintenance/Calibrations of the means under your responsibility.
• You will be a technical point of contact for 3D measurement validation.


Your Day-to-Day

• Support the production engineers and technicians on all topics concerning the manufacturing and assembly of flight hardware.
• Develop comprehensive familiarity and expertise with manufacturing processes, satellite configurations and manufacturing process requirements (i.e. work instructions, non-conformances, rework procedures, hardware drawing and requirements, etc.).
• Be the point of contact of the production engineers and technicians for exchanges with Flight design engineers.
• Coordinate with Quality and Flight Design Engineering for implementation of design, process changes and for non-conformances management.
• Support the setup of the production stations.
• Lead production standard repairs and anomaly management.
• Apply advanced engineering principles to solve difficult technical/quality problems or issues with raw materials and manufacturing processes.

This position is based in Merritt Island, Florida, USA. Weekend work may be required with appropriate compensation.


Your Profile

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing).
• Master's Degree is a plus.
• 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with hardware handling, repairs and power tools.
• Knowledge about spacecraft flight hardware is an asset.
• Strong commitment at work.
