The Senior Director of Program Management will provide strategic oversight and execution of complex, multidisciplinary program(s) for our biggest clients. This role emphasizes driving program success through strong client engagement, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and achieving organizational goals. Focus in the first period will be to take part in the successful Tech Transfer according to plan and budget. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in program management, with proven experience in coordinating high-stakes projects in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.

We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

 

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

 

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Professional lead for the core team involved in the client program.
  • Co-lead on the Tech Transfer bringing the client program successfully into production.
  • Serve as the principal liaison for clients, maintaining robust relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize program management processes, procedures, and best practices to achieve operational excellence in the program.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to support seamless program execution.
  • Oversee the development of project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, EMA).
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, proactively addressing potential issues to ensure project continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the program management department.
  • Provide strategic input into business development activities and client proposals.
  • Report on project progress, key performance indicators, and outcomes to executive leadership.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration); advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in program management within the CDMO or pharmaceutical industry working with complex global clients.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of drug development processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
