You Will:

  • Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
  • Determines systems software design requirements.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.
  • May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs.


 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or computer science discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience. 

 

Nice to Have 

  • Strong knowledge of computer science, including object-oriented design, how operating systems work and how compilation works 

  • Experience with common software development tools, including build automation, code coverage, unit testing, static analysis, debugging, Atlassian tools, and source control (git preferred) 

  • Experience with common networking protocols, such as DDS, UDP, and TCP/IP 

  • Experience working in Linux environments, basic terminal commands, and bash scripting  

  • Comfortable debugging complex hardware/software challenges within multi-processor systems 

  • Comfortable in both product development and exploratory research projects with minimal guidance 

  • Proficient use of Simulink, C++, and Unity/C# to design and develop complex software products 

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (QNX preferred) 

  • Knowledge of mathematics for controlling robotic systems, including multi-body kinematics, feedback controllers, and signal processing 

  • Experience with medical product development, including regulatory processes, safety considerations, and hands-on experience with medical devices and surgical instruments 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals.
