You Will:
- Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
- Determines systems software design requirements.
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
- Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.
- May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or computer science discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
Strong knowledge of computer science, including object-oriented design, how operating systems work and how compilation works
Experience with common software development tools, including build automation, code coverage, unit testing, static analysis, debugging, Atlassian tools, and source control (git preferred)
Experience with common networking protocols, such as DDS, UDP, and TCP/IP
Experience working in Linux environments, basic terminal commands, and bash scripting
Comfortable debugging complex hardware/software challenges within multi-processor systems
Comfortable in both product development and exploratory research projects with minimal guidance
Proficient use of Simulink, C++, and Unity/C# to design and develop complex software products
Experience with real-time operating systems (QNX preferred)
Knowledge of mathematics for controlling robotic systems, including multi-body kinematics, feedback controllers, and signal processing
Experience with medical product development, including regulatory processes, safety considerations, and hands-on experience with medical devices and surgical instruments
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals.
