Job Description
The Operations and Risk unit in Statkraft’s market segment (M) is the hub of all operations supporting our Trading and Origination activities, and Asset Management for Europe & US. The department is responsible for all processes and operations in the Back Office Europe & US, Risk Management, New Products & Investment Support, and the Digitalization Office for supporting our Trading & Origination activities.
In our Finance, Risk, and Portfolio Management Platform team (MRDS), we are now looking for a colleague to take the role of Business Analyst for an in-house developed portfolio risk management platform (PRIMA). The platform is currently utilized for analyzing and optimizing our Origination portfolios, but soon its scope will be expanded to encompass daily risk management processes as well. The PRIMA platform will play an important role in the future system landscape for our Origination & Risk departments.
The MRDS team is responsible for owning the business-critical IT solutions in the finance, risk-, and portfolio management domain. The team currently consists of 8 colleagues but will be ramping up to cover a larger scope of solutions going forward.
We are looking for a driven and dynamic Business Analyst to join our Digitalization team.
In close collaboration with Markets Origination and IT, you will drive the implementation of new system functionalities and business opportunities on the PRIMA platform.
Your tasks include:
- Interface with our Origination units to understand, capture and translate their needs into functional specifications to be picked up by the developers for implementation.
- Support product development and enhancement initiatives with the product owner and the product manager to ensure sustainable platform development.
- Work with the development team to provide clear and comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Develop business cases in alignment with stakeholders from business and IT to justify recommendations for system enhancements.
- Facilitate the change management process and ensure aligned development, testing and deployment of new system functionalities together with IT.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and conduct training sessions for the end-users.
- Provide support for the lifecycle management of trades, configuration, PnL and Risk KPI calculation, and data.
- Provide cross-functional business analysis support in the change process around our core ETRM systems Beacon and Murex MX.3 and other IT solutions in Finance & Risk
- Ensure a proactive and close dialogue with IT, product owners, process owners, project managers as well as other key stakeholders across Statkraft.
- Align with colleagues across the digitalization team on interdependent topics around processes, automation, innovation, and other systems.
Qualifications
- Higher education in Finance, economics or engineering with strong academic results
- At least 3 years work experience in the field of business analysis and change management, preferably in the commodity trading environment. Hands-on experience with the ETRM systems is beneficial.
- A proven understanding and genuine interest in the power and commodity markets, renewable energy, finance, and risk
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable specifications.
- Continuous improvement mindset and experience from improving and optimizing deliveries related to a product. Knowhow of agile and innovative techniques is appreciated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Norwegian or German is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of Python or other programming languages will be advantageous.
- High willingness to learn and improve yourself by continuously questioning the as-is status.
