About the role

Role Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced, proven Finance Analyst to join the team at the Charles City, Iowa site. The site employs more than 500 colleagues supplying many of Zoetis’ largest and most innovative products to livestock and companion animal customers around the globe.

This is a new role at the site supporting the Finance Lead in a broad range of areas including annual operating plan, forecasting and month-end close and will require collaboration across the site to understand financial performance and interpret results.

This is an excellent position for someone looking to move into a fast-paced manufacturing environment experiencing significant growth and investment.  5 years minimum experience in standard cost accounting preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Percent of Time (sum of responsibilities  should equal to 100%)

Will support financial planning, analysis and control including the annual budget process, product costing, quarterly forecasting activity and monthly reporting of actual results, ensuring the timeliness and integrity of financial data.

50%

Provide financial support and counsel to site finace leader and site leadership, Assist driving financial performance at the site and participate in a continuous improvement culture across the organization.

20%

Monitor financial  activities for the site; a key partner in identifying and detailing financial specifics and helping others to understand them.

10%

Other duties as assigned including ad-hoc reporting, supporting information requests, and maintaining historical internal reporting.

Maintain compliance with US GAAP and Zoetis accounting policies and procedures. Co-ordinate internal and external audit activity. Promote a strong financial controls environment including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls.

Prepared to serve as the Acting Site Finance Lead when the lead is unavailable to the site.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Provide the primary groups or key positions that this position will have interaction with as a regular part of the position responsibilities.  Include any external interactions as appropriate.

Key member of site partnering across all site functions providing financial support. Interacts with  site finance lead and central finance functions on a regular basis. Presents monthly results, forecastes and budgets to the broader Biologics Platform leadership team.

RESOURCES MANAGED  

Financial Accountability

Support financial operations of a site with an annual site budget in the 100’s of millions.

This position will be an individual contributor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Indicate the formal education, certification or license required and/or preferred. Include the minimum number of years of relevant experience required for the position (where legally permissible).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 5 years minimum of manufacturing/cost accounting experience.
  • Masters and/or CMA/CPA a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other statutory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
