How will you make a difference?
The Technical Lead is an expert in the assembly processes for an area/department. The Lead functions as a master builder, stepping in to support the build and creation of work instructions for new releases and to support production when additional staffing is needed. The Technical Lead is responsible for providing training to a team to assemble products to Wabtec’s quality standards. The Lead is also responsible for ensuring that the team is complying with work instructions and providing high quality products and customer service to Wabtec’s stakeholders.

- Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is between $25.00 – $30.00 an hour.

The actual hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
What do we want to know about you?
- Able to work assigned hours, 1st shift hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 3+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting.
- Must have good listening and communication skills.
- Able to work well with others to be a good team player.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Ability to create work processes utilizing drawings and verbal input on assembly methods
- Knowledge of work instruction creation, employee training and problem solving
- Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
- Basic shop math skills in all units of measuring, along with ability to read and use gauges and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details.
- Knowledge of production/materials control system.
- Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts and production schedules preferred.
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, coach, and drive accountability.
