Job Description
This position is located in the Administrative Services Division - Building Operations Section in Oklahoma City.
All applicants must be able to pass a background check and must be able to legally work within the United States. DEQ does not allow sponsorship for those on a H-1B visa.

Basic Purpose
This Position is Required to meet the building operations and maintenance of the agency.
Typical Functions
· Review construction plans and inspect projects in progress and completed projects to ensure compliance with guidelines concerning resource conservation and other requirements.
· Monitors all contractors while in the building performing services.
· Monitors building through the automation software. Mitigate the temperature fluctuations that have occurred throughout the building.
· Meet local, state, and federal laws and codes to guarantee safety in operating mechanical structures, systems, and processes.
· Monitor, assign, track, and complete building operation tickets through the agency ticketing system.
· Create a monthly, yearly, and multiyear project timeline for building maintenance to keep the building in optimal shape and keep all preventative maintenance completed.
· Performs carpentry work in the construction or renovation of buildings or additions to existing structures; erects and maintains scaffolds, forms, frames, fences, and other structures; alters and repairs doors, floors, partitions, stairways, windows, screens, and other fixtures; maintains and repairs roofs.
· Installs and maintains locks and other security devices; repairs or replaces tumblers, springs, and other parts; cut new or duplicate keys; uses files, hand tools, and special equipment to change combinations or shorten tumblers.
· Operates, maintains, and repairs various types of equipment used in the construction and maintenance of buildings and grounds, forklifts, mowers, and edgers.
· Maintains and repairs light fixtures, receptacles, and switches; replaces light bulbs; maintains generators and motors; oils and cleans motors; troubleshoots and makes electrical repairs not requiring a license; maintains and makes minor repairs to various types of heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment, such as components, pumps, fans, humidifiers, electric motors, and heat
exchangers.
· Installs, replaces, alters, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, taps, and faucets; makes minor repairs to laundry equipment, sterilization equipment, kitchen equipment, and other equipment using water, steam air, or other feed lines and return or waste disposal lines.
· All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Level I - two years of experience in one or more of the building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level II - four years of experience in one or more of the building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.
