Material Handler/Receiver

We have three manufacturing facilities, multiple corporate-owned retail showrooms, and a global distribution network. As the Material Handler at the Archdale, NC facility, you will be responsible for working closely with the Purchasing/Buying team to coordinate and receive in the materials needed to complete the daily production schedule.

The Material Handler will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Material Handler does this by issuing parts and supply components for various departments that have been gathered and staged by the Expediter. The Material Handler will also be responsible for conducting cycle counts of raw material on regular basis to ensure inventory accuracy. The Material Handler completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to read production tickets and any special instructions
  2. Issue and distribute edging, buttons, cushion/poly and other materials that are part of the piece to Inside Upholsterers
  3. Report to Supervisor or Group Leader for daily directions and promptly report any questions of problems
  4. Communicate effectively with Supervisor or Group Leader with any count discrepancies when issuing or receiving product
  5. Inspect parts and materials for quality
  6. Work in the safest, most efficient manner
  7. Operate assigned tools and computer systems included but not limited to RF Scanners, pallet jacks, Andon light notification system
  8. Respond to Andon light located at each Inside Upholsterer's workstation as needed
  9. Focus on limiting Inside Upholsterers' downtime by pushing materials to them
  10. Conduct weekly cycle counts of raw materials on the floor and in inventory cage to ensure inventory accuracy
  11. Keep work area neat, clean, and safe
