Position Summary 

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's logistics day to day operations, including fuel deliveries and inventory management at bulk, company owned retail and dealer operated locations. This role involves supervising a team of Logistics Coordinators and our Transport Driver team at multiple locations, with an aim to maximize efficiency and revenue, while adhering to DOT regulations. The Logistics Manager will also play a crucial role in shaping the company's future growth strategy. This position requires on-site presence at the corporate office and conducting other duties out in the field from Monday to Friday and on call after hours and weekends. Providing a split of approximately 60% time spent in the office and 40% time spent in the field.


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage Logistics Coordinators' operations, ensuring optimal scheduling of fuel deliveries and monitoring fuel inventory levels at company and dealer operated locations. 
  2. Supervise work schedules for company transport drivers to maximize truck revenue and provide support to the driver team while on duty. 
  3. Manage and track company trucks and trailers, working with our Maintenance team in directing drivers for scheduled and emergency maintenance as necessary. 
  4. Ensure compliance with all local and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to logistics operations. 
  5. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including customers, drivers, and management, to resolve any issues and improve overall service. 
  6. Make informed, safety-conscious decisions under pressure, adjusting plans based on changing demands and market trends. 
  7. Foster strong relationships with customers and drivers to facilitate cooperation and improve our level of delivery service. 
  8. Perform on site driver observations with each driver to review offloading procedures as assigned.
  9. Complete driver ride- along observations with each driver in the fleet as assigned.
  10. Oversee the Dispatch team to monitor inventory levels to avoid stock outs, the building of loads, routing of drivers, and monitor terminal allocations as needed.
  11. Monitor Safety performance of the fleet in Samsara and work with the Safety Team to manage driver hours of service, all safety alerts and moving violations with the ability to coach, train, and address as needed based on severity of the event. 
  12. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for future growth and expansion. 
  13. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  1. Degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or relevant work experience preferred.  
  2. Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, or the ability to manage a team of more than 25 employees. 
  3. The ability to multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure is essential. 
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant dispatching and telematic software. 
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually. 
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  7. Proven strategic planning and implementation skills. 
  8. An understanding of industry regulations and a commitment to ensuring company compliance.
