Job Description

Position Summary

The Wang lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study lens development and cataract formation, as well as tear gland development and dry eye disease. Dr. Wang’s lab uses mouse models to investigate signaling networks underlying eye development and the mechanisms of ocular diseases. We use a combination of techniques including mouse genetics, imaging, cell/molecular biology techniques, and computational/bioinformatic analysis. We are also actively exploring the collaboration with clinicians to conduct research with human eye specimens.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and passionate researcher.
  • Previous experience in mouse handling and cell culture.
  • Good skills in communication and collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to be trained in mouse work, such as mouse handling, tagging, genotyping and other related skills.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
