Qorvo has an opening for a Staff foundry engineer. The successful individual will work cross-functionally within Qorvo engineering group (sourcing, design, integration, test, quality, etc…) and will partner with our HVM foundry to follow development and production material, as well as coordinate and validate process & integration improvements to ensure manufacturability and improve yield. This job requires deep understanding of semiconductor processing technologies, and proven experience in dealing with foundries at a technical level.
Job description:
- Follow NPI (New Product Introduction) in HVM foundry and coordinate design or process-related optimizations to meet product specifications and requirements.
- Lead technical interactions with external foundries.
- Compile and analyze data using common statistical techniques (time-series analysis, CPK, DOE, SPC, ANOVA) and effectively present key results along with recommended actions.
- Practice continuous improvement and yield optimization by tracking wafer foundry parameters, uncovering correlations and troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
- Analyze products to ensure manufacturability and data sheet compliance, including setting the optimal screening limits and guard-bands in production test plans.
- Work with Process Integration and Yield Analysis teams to identify root cause of device-related yield/performance issues and propose mitigation plan in defined timeline to meet committed production yield/performance targets.
- Partner with foundry to assess, qualify and implement process changes
Qualification:
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or related Physical Science with 10+ Years of Industry Experience or PhD in Electrical Engineer or related Physical Science with 5+ years of Industry Experience.
- Strong working knowledge in module processes including lithography, dry etch, wet etch, CMP, thin films and metrology.
- Experience in serving external Foundry partners through technical interactions.
- Problem-solving and project/program management experience with strong self-initiative and self-learning capabilities.
- Experience with statistical analysis software to design and analyze experiments
- Experience presenting to internal & external customers.
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $154,300 - $200,700, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
