Field Laboratory Rep.

Description

 A Specimen Collector provides clients with specimen collection services including, but not limited to, urine testing, and Saliva Testing. This position will perform collections for Dominion Diagnostics office located in Rhode Island. These collections include, but are not limited to: urine collection, observed urine specimen collection, saliva collection. The Specimen Collector will complete, retain, and submit required paperwork associated with specimen collection, and Saliva Collection. The Collector will work at a client of Dominion Diagnostic’s office and will represent Dominion Diagnostics in a professional manner. 

1. Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping specimens

2. Follow departmental policies to correctly identify the patient before any specimen is obtained.

3. Properly label and document the specimens.

4. Prepare specimens for shipment.

5. Demonstrate customer service, compassion, and appropriate communication when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.

6. Follow Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, HIPPA, and strictly adhere to compliance guidelines. 

7. Maintain open communication with supervisor including notification of low volume shifts, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures.

8. Maintain neat, clean, orderly patient/work areas at all times

9. Maintain an adequate inventory level of supplies.

7. Must be able to stand for long periods.

8. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

9. Physical activities include frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting.
