Senior Software Engineer

The Swift Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to ensure systems are built to meet performance, security, and functional requirements. This candidate will also assist with gathering stakeholder requirements, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. This position is in Chantilly, VA.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, PHP, Ruby, or another web-focused object-oriented programming language 
• Application architecture and design patterns 
• Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred 
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations 
• Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications 
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps, experience as a DevOps engineer 
• Agile certified or knowledge of Agile principles 
• Proficiency with Git and Github workflows 
• Working knowledge of databases, MySQL & MariaDB 
• Using a virtual development environment 
• Angular/Vue/React or other JavaScript based framework 
• Metrics analysis and visualization tools such as Matomo, Google Analytics, or Tableau to perform analysis and to assist in UI/UX design decisions
