Job Description

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager. This is a state position governed by the Civil Service Rules, in state government located in Oklahoma City, OK.  OMMA offers a comprehensive benefits packet, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. The annual salary for this position is up to $80,000 based on education and experience.

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating small to large, complex legislative and internal projects within the organization, serving as a subject matter expert in project planning and design while providing technical guidance and training to other project managers. Responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, this position ensures the successful execution and timely delivery of initiatives while upholding the highest standards of quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions

  • Leads the planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex legislative projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to navigate intricate regulatory landscapes and achieve project objectives.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in project management methodologies, providing guidance and best practices to project teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Mentors and supports other project managers, offering technical assistance, and training to enhance their project management skills and capabilities.

  • Cultivates strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project goals and objectives with stakeholder interests.

  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks related to legislative requirements, compliance obligations, and regulatory changes, implementing strategies to minimize exposure and maintain project integrity.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains across project lifecycles.

  • Communicates project status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders and leadership through regular status updates, reports, and presentations, fostering transparency and accountability.

  • Prepares and facilitates project meetings, working sessions, etc. throughout the project to drive project progress.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience 

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems management or related scientific or technical discipline and three years of experience in project management; or a combination of education and experience.
