The Team:

The Product management team plays a lead role in developing new indices and managing the existing product suite. Focused on supporting and developing solutions for a broad range of clients, the Product Management team is responsible for the P&L of outcome-oriented index solutions across multiple asset classes including Equities, Smart Beta and Fixed Income. This is an exciting opportunity to join a product team in a growth stage.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The Smart Beta team is seeking a motivated summer intern to support and promote an innovative self-service platform that empowers institutional customers to prototype, backtest, analyze, and order custom indices. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally with commercial and analytical teams to assist in product readiness ahead of the launch, and plan for future features and functionalities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the evolving custom indexing market and to contribute to a cutting-edge project fueled by industry-leading data and intellectual property.

This role requires a solid understanding of financial markets, effective interpersonal and collaboration skills, and a genuine interest in index products and user experience.

• Assist the Product team as they create product strategies, develop product positioning, and help drive the commercial success of the business.
• Develop training materials to educate customers and colleagues on the platform.
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Help Product Managers guide the new index launch process and pipeline tailored for the platform.
• Track objectives and key results to ensure business success
• Collaborate with a wide range of internal teams including research & design, client experience, governance, index management and production group, and communications
• Assist the Product Managers in publishing thought leadership including presentations, papers, blogs, index analysis, and commentary

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base hourly wage for this position will be 30 USD.

What We’re Looking For:

• Expected bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, or related field to be completed by May 2026 or equivalent.
• Understanding of financial concepts and instruments, particularly related to indices and investment products.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative and contribute ideas.
• Strong interest in the financial services ecosystem
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Undergraduate degree in process in mathematics, finance, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to roll up the sleeves and execute
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to think critically about project challenges.
