Job Description
In this position you will work as a member of IDIADA’s instrumentation and ATD
department supporting vehicle, component and safety hardware safety tests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the conductance of various tests and projects.
- Operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, soldering iron and multimeter.
- Install and verify sensors and data acquisition as required for vehicle and component tests including force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers.
- Perform calibrations on various sensors (force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers) and Crash Test Dummies.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, verify, and reassemble Crast Test Dummies
- Bench check sensor and Crash Test Dummies to ensure they function and measure properly.
- Install and extract sensors, data acquisition and Crash Test Dummies from test vehicles.
- Fabricate, assemble, maintain and repair of wiring harnesses and connectors to multiple types of crash sensors.
- Crash test execution and data acquisition reporting.
- Collect crash test data using force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers, vehicle CAN channels, etc.
- Interpret test results, compile data and generate all data reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain all work area documentation including note logs, check sheets and part inventory.
- Maintain and operate a safe, clean and organized working environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma: two-year technical degree or prior trade experience preferred.
- Proficient operation of computers and excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, soldering iron and multimeter.
- Ability to utilize various tools and measurement techniques.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in projects and a continuously evolving industry. Must be able to improvise.
- Must be a team player. Must be able to work within and across various company
- departments.

Job Functions:
- Must be physically able to support test preparation and execution in an outdoor environment.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work extended hours and weekends.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices.
