Career Services Manager

This position is onsite at our Waco, Texas campus.

A Career Services Manager in higher education helps students and alumni navigate their career paths, offering resources and support to develop skills, explore opportunities, and find employment. They act as a bridge between the institution and employers, promoting student talent and facilitating connections. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Career Counseling and Advising: Providing guidance on career goals, job searching, and professional development.
• Employer Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with businesses and organizations to create opportunities for students.
• Event Planning: Organizing career fairs, workshops, and networking events to connect students with potential employers.
• Resource Management: Developing and maintaining career services resources, such as databases, websites, and career counseling materials.
• Data Tracking and Analysis: Monitoring career services outcomes, such as student placement rates and employer satisfaction.
• Coordination and Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as admissions and academic advising, to ensure seamless career support for students. 

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

• A Bachelor's degree, or Associate’s degree and five years of related experience preferred.
• Experience: minimum of 2 years practical work experience. Experience in career services preferred or employment background in any of the following: job placement at a vocational school, college, or university; staffing agency, recruiter; government sponsorship agency; or marketing/sales.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills: are essential for interacting with students and employers. 
• Knowledge of job searching, resume writing, and interviewing techniques: is important. 
• Excellent organizational and project management skills: are needed to plan and execute career services events.
