We are also looking for an instructor to teach ECED 225 -Infant/ Toddler Practicum and ECED 235 - Preschool Practicum which are 16-week courses. These two courses are practicums and instructors must meet students in the field 3 times per 16 week period, as well as correspond weekly with students. Both of these courses are set to begin the week of 8/16/2024.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Adjunct faculty make $46.50 per contact hour.

Qualified applicants should be proficient in teaching on Zoom and have experience teaching using Canvas.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
To be eligible to teach the ECED 101 course the faculty member must:
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in early childhood education, child development; or
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development, with academic preparation appropriate to the course and /or specialty being taught; and
- Possesses one of the following:
- Professional certification in the field; or
- Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8
To be eligible to teach the EDUC 225 and 235 Practicum courses the faculty member must:
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field appropriate to the program, and
- Has one of the following:
- Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification or
- Three years of elementary or secondary teaching experience.
