About the role

Provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program and support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies. Maintain operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed. Assist with the management of security aspects of the information system and perform day-to-day security operations of the system and evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information. Perform vulnerability and risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation and configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware. Manage changes to the system and assess the security impact of those changes. Prepare and review documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs), and support security authorization activities in compliance with Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (ISCAP) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Capabilities

  • Experience with supporting major federal information systems and applications
  • Experience with security tools, hardware, and software security implementation, communication protocols, or encryption techniques and tools
  • Experience with developing Risk Management products and working through system accreditations
  • Experience in interfacing with information assurance managers, including reviewing documentation, systems security plans (SSPs), risk assessment reports, accreditation packages, Plans of Action, Milestones, POA&Ms
  • Experience working with XACTA IA Manager and Risk Management Frameworks
  • Experience with national security information system-related security requirements, including JSIG, ICD 503, DAAPM, or NISPOM
  • Experience in the oversight and execution of the Assessment and Authorization processes or Certification and Accreditation

Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph
  • Ten (10) years experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Experience is to include at least two (2) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience with Scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, C-Shell, JavaScript)
  • Experience with Atlassian suite
  • Experience with Build tools (e.g., ANT, AutoTools, Maven)
  • Experience with Salt
  • Experience with INSIGHT Asset Mgmt Jira plugin
  • Experience with Bitbucket or similar
  • Experience working in an AGILE development environment
