Senior Financial Systems Architect

You will report to the Director, Financial Systems and be based in our NYC office.

You'll Get To…

• System Design for Finance Processes: Lead the architectural design and development of finance systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements. Design solutions that streamline finance processes, enhance data integrity, and improve decision-making.
• Integration of Financial Applications: Oversee the integration of financial applications, such as ERP systems, accounting software, and reporting tools, to create a seamless and efficient finance ecosystem. Ensure data consistency and accuracy across integrated systems.
• Data Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance controls to safeguard sensitive financial data and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX). Design access controls, encryption mechanisms, and auditing processes to mitigate security risks.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance to support the demanding requirements of finance operations. Conduct performance testing, capacity planning, and optimization initiatives to enhance system responsiveness and scalability.
• Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Research and evaluate financial technologies, frameworks, and best practices to recommend the adoption of innovative solutions. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to finance systems.
• Documentation and Training: Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation guidelines to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure compliance with internal standards. Provide training and support to finance users on system functionalities and best practices.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with finance stakeholders, including CFO, controllers, analysts, and auditors, to understand their requirements and priorities. Communicate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with finance objectives.

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience (10+ years) as a System Architect or a similar role in designing and implementing finance systems.
• Deep understanding of finance processes, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Strong knowledge of financial applications, such as ERP systems (e.g.,NetSuite, Coupa, Workday/Adaptive), financial management software, and business intelligence tools.
• Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards and regulatory requirements applicable to financial systems (e.g., SOX, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).

Cash Compensation Range: $178,500 - $287,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
