About This Role:
We are looking for a resourceful, creative, and sharp-eyed senior Competitive Intelligence professional to join the Kinetic Consumer & Market Insights team and shape company-wide growth, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. You will own the end-to-end competitive-intelligence (CI) program—continuously tracking competitor product launches, pricing actions, channel moves, partnerships, regulatory filings, and M&A activity—and convert these signals into clear implications and actionable recommendations for senior leadership. You don’t settle for traditional desk research; you thrive on thinking outside the box, mining unconventional data sources, and devising novel ways to uncover hard-to-find information.
What You'll Do:
• Market & Competitor Analysis:
◦ Conduct deep-dive research on competitors’ pricing strategies, product roadmaps, channel tactics, and market positioning.
◦ Monitor industry trends, emerging business models, and regulatory developments to surface opportunities and threats early.
◦ Tap non-traditional intelligence sources—social listening, web scraping, patent filings, job postings, supply-chain checks, expert networks—to anticipate competitor moves.
• Competitive-Intelligence Program Management:
◦ Build, maintain, and continually enhance a central, searchable repository of competitor data, insights, and artifacts.
◦ Design and refine dashboards, scorecards, and benchmarking frameworks that enable at-a-glance comparison of pricing, product, and performance metrics.
◦ Drive innovation in CI methodologies, pilot new tools and approaches to keep the program ahead of industry best practice.
• Strategy Development & Advisory
◦ Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to translate competitive insights into marketing, product, and pricing strategies that align with corporate objectives.
◦ Assess the financial impact of competitor moves and recommend proactive countermeasures.
◦ Facilitate scenario planning and war-gaming sessions to stress-test strategic options.
◦ Your work will drive timely, evidence-based decisions that unlock new revenue and sustain our competitive edge.
◦ Leverage advanced CI platforms, primary and secondary research techniques, internal tools, and story-driven executive communication to influence strategy at speed.
◦ Operate an always-on monitoring system, issue rapid alerts on material market events, publish concise weekly intelligence briefs, and provide day-to-day oversight of the CI function.
• Reporting & Communication
◦ Prepare and deliver compelling, data-backed presentations on competitive and market trends to senior management and the Board.
◦ Distill complex findings into clear narratives, recommended actions, and quantified business impact.
◦ Maintain a predictable cadence of updates (flash alerts, weekly briefs, quarterly deep-dives) while staying flexible to ad-hoc executive requests.
◦ Partner closely with Pricing, Product, Finance, Sales, and the Executive Team to embed competitive insights into decision workflows.
Do You Have:
◦ Inventive, resourceful, and intellectually curious—adept at uncovering insights from both conventional and unconventional sources.
◦ Advanced analytical skills; fluency in Excel/Sheets, plus experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and CI platforms (e.g., AlphaSense).
◦ Strong business acumen and the ability to link competitive findings to financial outcomes.
◦ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proven storyteller who can simplify complexity for executive audiences.
◦ Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, juggle multiple priorities, and deliver under tight timelines.
