Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced, self-driven, detailed oriented Business Operations Manager to assist with all aspects of the Real Estate sector business support function for the East Territory in the US reporting to the Senior VP for Real Estate East Territory Operations. The candidate will work closely with the broader Finance team and Commission Managers/Directors/Cost Center Leaders with respect to overall commercial finance and operations.

Specifically, the Business Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

Financial Management & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with Commission Managers/Directors/Cost Center Leads to forecast, invoice, and monitor project budgets, identify potential issues, and analyze financial performance.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate revenue and cost allocation, improve billing processes, and drive process efficiencies.
  • Analyze utilization data, including timesheet compliance and accuracy, and support Cost Center Leaders with utilization reporting.

Compliance & Training:

  • Understand and communicate SOX compliance requirements and assist SOX ambassadors in promoting compliance within the territory.
  • Oversee and coordinate attendee participation in mandatory quarterly training programs.
  • Provide support and guidance to onboarded Commission Managers/Directors who have completed D365 training.
  • *SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Operational Support:

  • Review and analyze expense submissions, ensuring timely and accurate accounting and invoicing.
  • Coordinate midmonth and monthly forecast meetings with leadership teams.
  • Assist with sector reporting for the Real Estate Sector.
  • Review trial balances and update related commercial documents.
  • Ensure adherence to T&T standard procedures and policies across the commercial function.
  • Support the preparation of bids by reviewing project margin templates and financials.
  • Coordinate all external client procurement portal registrations.
  • Provide general administrative support, including meeting preparation and coordination.
  • Monitor mandatory training and declaration completions across the territory.

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Learn and support the digital team with the development of cost center leader dashboards.
  • Lead, manage, or coordinate with existing market operations leads.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.

Qualifications

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy level.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize effectively ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Strong team skills, collaborating with and supporting colleagues, senior management and external clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically. Anticipate needs and proactively resolve issues.
  • Resilient character, comfortable with operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain the security of records and files.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to improve processes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, business or related field is preferred.
  • Five+ years of experience in a business support/operations or finance/accounting function is preferred.
  • Experience in client billing.
  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting environment is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsof
