Occupational Summary

 

The Program Coordinator will provide support for the Master of Engineering in Climate and Sustainability Engineering within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This position reports to the Director of the Master of Engineering in Climate and Sustainability Engineering and will be part of a team of program coordinators that work individually and collectively to support various academic programs. The program coordinator will plan, coordinate, manage and administer activities related to program, faculty, and student support.

Program support (50%)

 

• Monitor, track and ensure student compliance with the academic requirements, deadlines, graduation requirements, etc. and report program progress to relevant entity

Make operational and programmatic decisions that have a significant impact on the successful achievement of program strategies and objectives; develop, coordinate and advise staff regarding program policy.

• Develop, administer, and assess evaluations and surveys and recommend and implement modifications to monitor or improve program effectiveness.
• Budget for and coordinate programs functions such as orientation, graduation, seminar, residencies, Industry Advisory Board Meetings, and professional development. Responsibilities may include overseeing event coordination, inviting appropriate speakers or other participants, arranging schedules, arranging travel, arranging catering, facilities, publicity and ensuring necessary financial arrangements.       
• Support the admissions process as needed by the Director of the Master of Engineering in Climate and Sustainability Engineering, including planning support and participation in recruitment events, answering applicant questions, assessing candidates or interviewing candidates, admitted student activities, and new student onboarding.
• Prepare budgets, monitor and reconcile expenditures as appropriate.
• Plan, implement and coordinate systems designed to maintain master’s program informational Duke site page, such as listservs, alumni database, master’s program web page, Pratt Professional Masters Bulletin; prepare and submit course requests to EFC and Registrar’s office for approval.
• Maintain liaison with other programs, offices, departments and schools at Duke to coordinate program business and to accomplish program objectives and establish procedures for registering and facilitating registration; interface with external organizations as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
• Prepare, manage
