About the role

Schedule: Monday -Friday; no weekends or holidays; hours: M&W 9-5:30;  T &TH 10:30-7; F 8:30-5  (with some flexibility)     Duties include registration; scheduling; answering phone; checking patient eligibility; referral coordination       Strong, positive communication skills are required     Dependability, punctuality, and a strong attendance record is a must     Customer service experience and a strong desire to work as a member of the team is preferred     Scheduling and referral coordination experience preferred but will consider training the right person     Spanish or Portuguese as a second language is helpful but not essential
  1. The RehabTherapy Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients for Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy. The position has significant communication requirements with practice offices. The job requires excellent communication skills to build collegial relationships with surgeons, physicians, patients, and staff. The position may also require assisting with other areas key to the continuity of patient care.
  • Schedules clinical procedures to promote consistent high-quality clinical care, including scheduling the correct procedure, site, and supplies. 
  • Schedules and registers patients via phone interaction to organize, arrange, and coordinate patient and facility needs by considering variables as diagnosis, personal resources, equipment needs, patient availability, patient need, duration of treatment, insurance eligibility, safety needs, and physician orders. 
  • Communicates with physician offices to proactively manage dedicated time (such as block time), including anticipating scheduling changes such as additional open time (from block time releases, as applicable) or future availability. 
  • Promptly informs physician offices of hospital changes.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Required:
    • Education: High school diploma (or equivalent)
    • Experience: 1 year of scheduling experience (or related)
