Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Engineer. Senior II. Developing distributed software systems and packages that support Akamai's global network and content distribution; Integrating and enhancing FIPS-compliant cryptographic solutions for Akamai operating systems; Collaborating with Open Source developers to upstream enhancements to relevant projects; Co-owning Akamai Linux distribution and build environments used by many Akamai teams; Porting Akamai modifications to newer versions of Akamai Linux distributions; Debugging and fixing issues found in a variety of testing and production environments; and Collaborating closely with Linux kernel development and testing teams. Required Qualification:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Two (2) years of experience in the following: C, C++, Python, Golang, Linux OS Development, Object Oriented Programming, and Distributed Programming.

Alternately, employer will accept Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering., plus eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Two (2) years of experience in the following: C, C++, Python, Golang, Linux OS Development, Object Oriented Programming, and Distributed Programming.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $172744 - $261900/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
