Safety & Security Technology Supervisor

The Safety and Security Technology Supervisor will be responsible for handling day to day support for all aspects of security technology and systems ranging from CCTV, card access, alarm systems, physical security controls and overall best practices in physical security across Wayfair.

What You’ll Do 

• Support physical security standards as they relate to security devices; CCTV, card access and alarms. 
• Implement and support the installations of security devices at all Wayfair locations and retrofit improvements at existing locations (incl. programming, mapping, and device provisioning).
• Collaborate with GLOSS team members and create action plans to improve visibility and protection.
• Assist GLOSS team to achieve desired results as they relate to physical security standards. 
• Suggest policies and procedures for the design, approval and use of all physical security devices utilized globally.
• Assist in post-theft incident analysis to help identify gaps and make recommendations.
• Stay current with innovative and emerging technologies that can enhance security standards at Wayfair. 
• Earn trust through regular communication with management on status, threats, risk mitigation and improvement options. 
• Partner cross-functionally with all levels of GLOSS and other functional areas as assigned.
• Maintain effective working relationships with external partners such as regulatory agencies, industry security vendors and suppliers. 
• Provide supportive feedback and coaching throughout the year to help management achieve security performance objectives.    

 

What You’ll Need

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position or 2 years of experience of increasing responsibility related to security technology required; Strong experience with CCTV and access control required
• Proficiency with physical security design, development, and implementation required 
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with extreme ambiguity and rapidly changing environments required 
• Strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and professionalism, including an ability to maintain confidentiality required 
• Sound business skills such as budgeting, time management and good decision-making ability. 
• Strong Communication skills with the ability to navigate a complex organization and articulate problems along with ideas and plans to mitigate.
• Must be able to stand and or walk in a variety of weather and terrain conditions for shifts up to 10 hours.
• Must be able to lift and hold 15 pounds.
• Be able to work effectively in warehouse environments with hot and cold conditions, as well as loud noises.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time. 
• Schedule flexibility required, working hours vary across multiple shifts as the needs of the business change and in response to emergencies and system maintenance.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated working knowledge of security and life safety concepts, best practices, policies, programs, and procedures. Preferably in a retail distribution environment.  
• Experienced in project management
• Technical knowledge of computer hardware and networking
