Senior Development Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Devops Engineer to join our R&A Devops team in Barcelona, Spain.

This is an amazing opportunity to work on Devops and Data Science related technologies.

The team consists of 6 people and is reporting to the Senior Manager. We have a great skill set in CI/CD, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker/Container, AWS and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in provisioning/managing AWS resources using Devops best practices. 

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar 

• 5+ Year of professional experience in software automation and system administration 

• 5+ Year of experience in provisioning resources in AWS or any cloud provider using Terraform. 

• Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI. 

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, PowerShell , Groovy 

• Hands-on experience with Docker.

• Solid understanding of security best practices and how to implement them in a DevOps context. 

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

It would be great if you also had . . .  

• Work in software design/development and implementation 

• Knowledge of Groovy Scripting 

• Experience in Data Ops 

• Familiarity with Databricks or similar Data Lake tools 

• Ability to present the options and solution to stakeholders 

What will you be doing in this role? 

• Work closely with Development team/Squad 

• Represent devops in development team scrum meetings 

• Fix issue raised by development team related to IAC or deployment 

• Provide solutions for any new feature/service automation requirement 

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and model deployment and testing. 

• Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to build automation based on project requirements. 

• Write and review Infrastructure as Code (IAC) provisioning code using Terraform. 

• Ensure security best practices are followed early in the development phase. 

• Troubleshoot issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and performance. 

• Always motivate to learn and share with the team 

Product you will be developing  

You will be working on creating new services automation for Data Science and R&A (Research and Analytics) based applications. Products include WoS (Web of Science), Incites, JCR etc. 

Applications are build using different technologies like Java, Springboot, Angular, DB, ElasticSearch.  

About the Team   

R&A Devops team consist of 3 Senior Devops Engineer, 3 Devops Engineer and a Manager. Team is distributed in three different timezone:  Spain, USA and India. 

Team support multiple product lines like WoS, Incites and JCR for automation and Infrastructure. Team also supports automation for newly formed Data Science Team. 

Hours of Work  

This is a full-time permanent position, CET/CEST hours. 

Working on a hybrid model from our Barcelona Office.
