Job Duties

The Equity Business Loan Fund Administrator manages and oversees the operations of a loan fund designed to support historically underserved entrepreneurs and small businesses. This role ensures equitable access to capital, facilitates loan processing and compliance, and collaborates with community partners to promote inclusive economic development. The Administrator plays a key role in advancing financial equity and supporting business sustainability in marginalized communities.


Loan Fund Administration
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Equity Business Loan Fund.
• Oversee loan application intake, review, and processing.
• Ensure compliance with fund guidelines, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of loan disbursements, repayments, and client communications.

Client Support & Technical Assistance
• Provide guidance to applicants throughout the loan process.
• Assist clients in preparing financial documentation and business plans.
• Refer clients to business development resources and financial counseling as needed.
• Monitor borrower progress and offer post-loan support.

Underwriting & Risk Management
• Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of loan applications.
• Collaborate with underwriting teams or committees to evaluate loan eligibility.
• Recommend loan terms and conditions based on client capacity and fund policies.
• Track portfolio performance and identify potential risks.

Community Relations
• Promote the loan fund through outreach events, workshops, and marketing campaigns.
• Build relationships with community organizations, financial institutions, and local governments.
• Advocate for equitable access to capital and inclusive lending practices.
• Collect feedback from stakeholders to improve fund accessibility and impact.

Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare regular reports on fund performance, loan activity, and impact metrics.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support audits, evaluations, and funder reporting requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Principles of community lending, small business finance, and economic development.
• Loan underwriting, portfolio management, and compliance standards.
• Barriers to capital access for underserved populations. Grant and fund management practices.
• Strong financial analysis and documentation review skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in loan management systems and financial software.
• Project management and organizational skills.
• Build trust with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Navigate complex regulatory and compliance environments.
• Work independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Adapt to changing program needs and priorities.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in loan fund administration, financial services, or economic development.
• Experience working with underserved communities and small businesses.
• Familiarity with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), Small Business Association (SBA) lending, or public-private funding initiatives is highly desirable.

Additional Considerations

• Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in community development finance.
