Registered Nurse - Juvenile Justice System (BCH-Oakland)

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who practices within the framework of primary nursing and assumes responsibility and accountability for the care and education of patients and their families over a designated period of time. The RN directs and provides patient care utilizing the nursing process, therapeutic use of self, appropriate and instrumentation, and collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience in a juvenile justice system and/or correctional center.
- This position requires the flexibility to orient and work in all UCSF Health locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience working in ED or Med/Surg specialty
- Previous pediatric nursing experience
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current American Heart Association (BLS) CPR certification
