Overview of the internships 

 

We have multiple CNN FactCheck internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for multiple internship opportunities within this general area. These internships will be located in the ATL area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.

Your Role Accountabilities 

Duties could include: 

  • Fact check scripts, digital articles, and long-form stories. 

  • Review pieces for editorial accuracy, fairness, and balance. 

  • Field editorial requests from CNN correspondents around the world by phone, email, and in-person, and help track projects. 

Qualifications & Experience 

 

Essentials needed for the positions that are similar across the above roles (these do not all have to apply to every single role)  

  • Interest in news and journalism

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Candidates should be pursuing a career in journalism.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid reporting and research skills.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Well versed in current events, aware and interested in domestic and international news.

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required 

  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)  

  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
