The successful candidate will join the Facility Operations team to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. The Ground Data Systems Branch Manager will oversee the Ground Data Systems team consisting of Metrology and Instrument services, Data Acquisition System (DAS) and Facility Automation System (FAS) support, Instrumentation Systems Development, Test Technique Development, and Wind Tunnel Data Operations support teams. This position reports directly to the Facility Operations Director. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Responsibilities:
· Provide direct leadership to a team of first line supervisors who manage the configuration management, operation, maintenance and repair, systems administration, documentation and security of the Ground Data Systems equipment managed by the CMOE contract.
· Provide oversight of the Metrology and Test Equipment services subcontract providing instrument administration, calibration, repair, and logistics for NASA equipment.
· Assist in the development of department strategy and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to work execution, staffing, training, and resource sharing between facilities all in accordance with department strategy.
· Increase the overall productivity of the branch by implementing relevant employee training, forecasting effectively, eliminating inefficiencies and capturing growth opportunities.
· Attend and sometimes organize meetings with department leadership and contract clients with topics ranging from Core Projects to administrative tasks of the department and branch business.
· Produce ad hoc reports, create and give presentations to the client, Senior Management or Corporate leadership for topics ranging from project proposals to solutions or recommendations for improvement.
· Identify, evaluate and manage strategic risks and opportunities.
· Ensure team maintains compliance with company, NASA, and industry policies, procedures, and standards.
· Meet goals and metrics for the department, ATOD, and CMOE contract and ensure contract deliverables owned by the branch are developed and submitted on time.
· Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities and efficiencies.
· Primary and secondary interface with client stakeholders, address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly, maintain fruitful relationships with current customers and establish good relationships with new ones.
· Identify and leverage resources existing throughout Amentum.
· Keep updated on emerging technologies and their potential application within the current ecosystem.
· Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.
· Will perform other duties as assigned.
