Overview
Temporary Part Time position to maintain assigned landscaped areas throughout the City by performing unskilled and manual work using varied equipment and resources under the general direction of the designated supervisor.
Essential Functions
Assist with the installation of landscaping.
Assist with irrigation installation.
Assist with basic landscape maintenance, including weed control, string trimming, hedging, edgings, and mowing.
Assist with irrigation maintenance.
Assist with basic building maintenance, including pressure washing, blowing off sidewalks, and changing batteries in auto-flush toilets.
Restroom cleaning.
Collects and picks up litter and empties trash bins.
Operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends and/or be on-call.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED,
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Job Based Competencies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
Ability to operate necessary equipment, including string trimmer, edger, hedger, blower, pressure washer, or other basic landscape or maintenance hand tools.
Responsibility
Under the direction of and responsible to the Department Head or designated representative. Usually no supervision exercised.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently. Work requires considerable physical activity including walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, pulling, grasping, balancing, climbing, kneeling, standing, and crouching. Incumbent is subject to inside and outside activities with a variety of weather changes or atmospheric conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to activities such as noise and jobs with potential hazards that may require special protection and/or special safety precautions. Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed. Incumbent is required to hear sufficiently to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment in performance of duties.

Incumbent has limited contact with the public while working in various landscaped areas throughout the City.
