Responsibilities
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Work as a primary health care provider in a clinical setting.
- Provide urgent and non-urgent care for all patients.
- Obtain a health history from the patient and records findings.
- Perform special screening and diagnostic tests, request laboratory tests and radiographic studies and uses the results in assessing the patient's medical problems.
- Provide advice and screens patients by telephone and in person to determine nature and urgency of their problems.
- Assess the physical and psychological health status of patients and their families through health and developmental history-taking and physical examination in accordance with (IAW) established protocols.
- Develop and provide individual and group patient health teaching as appropriate on topics related to health promotion.
- Prescribe a variety of medications to patients based on the medical treatment facility (MTF) formulary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document.Basic Requirement for Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner):Degree: A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Advanced Practice Nursing is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.Additional License Requirements: Applicants for Advanced Practice Nurse positions must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a cu
