The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Data Product Development Senior Manager to join the team in either Seattle, WA; Hazelwood, MO; or North Charleston, SC.
This position will support the Data Platform and Products team supporting Business Intelligence as a Service (BIaaS). It will be key for the selected candidate to manage efficiencies, oversee operations and stability for critical Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Cognos and Tableau, and extending that to visual analytics while leveraging market trends and Boeing standards and capabilities for data warehouses and Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools. This position will also be responsible for data modelling, data mesh, data operations, data engineering to extend the BIaaS capabilities for self-service visual analytics and data science solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages and integrates employee activities across Information Technologies including infrastructure design and administration, application analysis and design, information management, architecture, computing security, computing project support and/or process analysis
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Manages product and professional service suppliers for strategic partnership on modernization, cloud migration, and software license cost management
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages and provides developmental opportunities for employees
Manages Business Intelligence platforms, data interpretation, visual analytics, executive dashboards and database exploration and automation with modern and innovative tools
Applies Financial Acumen and Analysis combined with data to make strategic decisions, drive roadmaps for optimal cost to serve, and scalable self-service, cloud first solutions
Leads implementation of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile methodologies and tool
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience working with SAFe or Agile methodologies
5+ years of experience building platforms and data products
5+ years of experience working with relational database management systems (Exadata, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
Experience with management of vendor or supplier contracts; including a request for proposal, negotiations, execution to critical deliverables, and ongoing maintenance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience working with Agile Software and Product Development
Certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Certifications in Tableau, Cognos and/or other visual analytics platforms and product
