We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits team in our Melville, NY office on a Hybrid work schedule.
General Purpose
Support EB Account Executives in coordination of projects and interfacing with clients and carriers to ensure exceptional customer service.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Account Executives & Account Executives with daily client management issues.
- Perform account maintenance including updates to client files, scanning and attachment of plan documents, Benefit Point, etc.
- Assists in the resolution of common account issues, i.e., claim, policy, eligibility, and service issues.
- Request, track, and upload Schedule As for client 5500 filings.
- Preparation of Annual Notice packets for clients.
- Benefit and census gathering/sorting for marketing, stewardship, persona, smart view reports.
- Assists with marketing proposals, paperwork, and presentation preparation.
- Revise/Edit and bind presentation materials as needed.
- Prepare open enrollment materials (C&D benefit guides, benefit spot mobile app, presentation, obtaining carrier collaterals).
- Assists with open enrollment meetings and client meetings as necessary for clients and prospective clients.
- Assists with coordination of Seminars, as appropriate.
- Develops and maintain positive relationships with insurance carriers and clients.
- Management of benefit portals, ie; TouchCare, Employee Navigator, etc.…
- Assist Client and Account Executives with creating client websites using HRConnections.
- Assist Client and Account Executives utilizing MyWave.
- Performs other administrative functions as needed by Senior/Account Executives.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an Employee Benefits insurance environment.
- Valid Life & Health License.
- 4-year college degree a plus.
- Basic analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate – Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Accurate and high attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time (ie seminars, meetings, etc.); the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds (office supplies and paper) and assist in the clean-up/straightening of Conference Room prior to or after EB meetings.
Complexity & Scope
- Supports Associate Account Executives, Account Executives, Senior Account Executives and Producers manage accounts.
- Manages low complexity account issues.
- May interface with clients and carriers.
