Technical Product Manager III (Data Products)

The Technical Product Manager III role sits within the Data and AI team in the Product & Technology division of Expedia Group. One of the focuses within this team is creating, maintaining, and growing the enterprise data stores that provide context and meaning to the data that is used to run the business. In this role, your expertise and passion for data, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation will help improve the experience of millions of travelers and partners worldwide.
In this role, you will:
Partner with internal stakeholders to drive product strategy and influence decisions across various business groups
Translate business goals into technical data product requirements, including discovering dependencies and defining data contracts
Act as an internal consultant, providing support across the organization through being a product Subject Matter Expert, and crafting comprehensive documentation
Organize the strategic vision into key themes that solve for both short-term and long–term business & customer requirements
Create a strategic, KPI-driven, plan to achieve key themes and milestones, making tradeoff decisions with engineering teams when necessary
Apply your understanding of data engineering principles to enable engineering teams with actionable technical requirements
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's equivalent experience with 5+ years for Bachelor's and 3+ years’ experience with Master's
Experience working in a technology company managing data products
Proficient in SQL: able to create detailed technical requirements defining how data from different systems will work together and assist technical data consumers with their own questions or queries
Proven understanding of data engineering fundamentals
Experience and deep understanding of agile SDLC methodology
