Position Summary


This position is responsible for safely maintaining equipment that is dependable & available for meeting our customer (internal and external) expectations. Maintenance Techs are expected to search for and recommend any repair or process changes that are deemed necessary for Plymouth to meet Customer requirements and allow team members to work in a safe and productive manner.


Essential Responsibilities


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for the timely completion of work orders placed through the Mill CMMS.
2. Participate in problem solving teams and kaizen events in order to improve operating performance.
3. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot all Mill equipment.
4. Participate in Team meetings of Maintenance Team Members and Cross Functional Teams as directed.
5. Complete Preventative Maintenance procedures and equipment improvement activities.
6. Inspect and inventory site-generated hazardous waste staging areas.
7. Assist the transfer of site-generated hazardous waste to on-site staging areas.
8. Direct storage of site-generated hazardous waste in the hazardous waste staging areas.
9. Conduct inspections of Satellite Accumulation Areas.
10. Respond to all customers with urgency and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years of Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration: Forklift certification, Crane Certification, Confined Space, First Aid/CPR
Technology and Equipment: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of:
1. Windows operating systems & programs
2. Microsoft Office Suite
3. Rockwell Automation Software


COMPENTENCIES/DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS


1. Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
2. Tool use and basic mechanical principals
3. Welding and steel fabrication
4. Basic HVAC function
5. Reciprocating and rotary air compressors function and servicing
6. Basic pump function and servicing
7. Industrial safety standards for working with pressurized air, fluids and gases and operation of all types of powered Industrial Hand Tools

Work Environment


While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and stored energy in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and gravitational energy. The noise level in the work environment is above 85 dcB and hearing protection is required. Due to manufacturing technologies utilized in the area common contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil steel chips and water will be present. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. Also may be exposed to fumes or dust.
