As a Sr. Product Manager, ATK at Carbon Robotics, you represent the voice of the customer with a deep understanding of their needs and farming practices for our Autonomous Tractor Kit for existing tractors..
You will be focused on understanding the farming use cases, the farm equipment, and the techniques and tricks farmers leverage to grow great products - and ultimately, to develop the requirements and roadmap for the customer and internal facing software that will enable world-changing autonomy in agriculture. A strong understanding of UI/UX is required.
You will help define the product roadmap through customer interviews, market research & analysis, and close collaboration with engineering and field teams. Working with stakeholders, you will prioritize the possibilities to ensure AutoTractor delivers a best-in-class solution for our customers, while meeting the needs of our business.
What you’ll do:
- Understand farming, farm equipment, farm implements, and farm processes
- Travel extensively to field and farm, visiting with customers and prospects
- Extensively document findings, organize trends and details, and prioritize desired efforts
- Collaborate with the stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to define requirements, specify functionality and clarify priorities
- Use global processes to thoroughly understand the scope, complexity and dependencies of the business and what product functionality is needed
- Communicate with the cross functional teams to ensure alignment across products within a product family
- Responsible for collaboration of full end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to decommission with product teams
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of Product Manager experience working with software teams, front-end teams, and UI/UX development - experience w/ large scale industrial or agricultural equipment highly desired
- Proven execution in defining and building customer & market driven needs through data driven requirements documentation
- Proven ability to rapidly articulate and drive strategic trade off decisions
- Strong communication skills; highly credible with customers; proven customer focus, empathy and design thinking
- Highly collaborative and ability to influence without authority; proven ability to develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical parties, proven ability to manage multiple stakeholder views, opinions and needs
- Strong understanding of technical terms, processes, and practices of products within scope
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related career field
- Subject matter expertise within Agtech highly desired
- Up to 50% travel may be required depending on seasonality
