A Glimpse of the Job
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to advancing artificial Intelligence driven technologies to address data interoperability issues in the process industry. The position will be responsible for conducting advanced research in this specialized area and will work closely with Dr. David Jeong. In addition to research responsibilities, the associate will be integral in managing work tasks, facilitating communication, preparing reports, and organizing various aspects of the assigned research projects.
Opportunities to Contribute
Data collection, data analysis, and model development and testing
Collect, interpret, and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present their conclusions.
Writing research results
Provide written reports of research progress and findings.
Publish work in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Communication and coordination of research activities
Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings with project team members.
Create, track, and manage timelines and related tasks to ensure effective implementation of assigned research projects.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Construction Science or Construction Management or closely related field.
Research Experience on Data interoperability for process plants, and Artificial Intelligence applications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of data interoperability and system interoperability issues for capital projects.
Proficiency in data management and the use of office software such as spreadsheets, and word processing.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and data.
Advanced statistical analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence knowledge and skills.
Strong organizational skills, excellent oral/written communication skills, and report-writing skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, within the agency, the university, and stakeholders involved in research.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in research sponsored by the industry and/or major funding agencies in the U.S.

Salary: $50,000/annually

Other Requirements and Factors:
Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed (i.e., passed relevant exams) by the start of employment.
This Postdoctoral Research Associate position will require approximately 100% effort dedicated to research activities, with an anticipated duration of one year, contingent upon project funding and performance.
Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
