The Job:  

As an Engineering Technician in our Motors Lab you’ll be an Onsite employee based in our Towson, MD facility. You’ll get to:  

  • Work collaboratively on the development of Brushless DC Motor prototypes
  • Develop and build assembly/manufacturing fixtures for brushless DC motor prototypes
  • Manage prototype motor requests to accommodate product teams’ schedules
  • Identify opportunities to improve design for manufacturing and design for automation
  • Conduct Failure Analysis related to manufacturing defects
  • Collaborate with motors development teams during new motor design phases of NPD
  • Assemble prototypes, conduct sample part measurements and deliver finished prototypes to motor development team

The Person:

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Mechanical Engineering-Preferred
  • PLC programming experience preferred
  • Hands-on Ability to develop manufacturing fixtures, assembly aids
  • Experience with MS Office packages (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience managing multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability and interest in learning about new technologies and processes
  • Ability to take initiative in solving problems
  • Working knowledge with electrical and magnetic test equipment required (Ohm meters, Flux testers, oscilloscopes, etc…)
  • Motor Manufacturing Experience is a Plus
  • Ability to read and understand basic electric circuits and motor connection/winding diagrams

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $42,000 - $75,500 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
