The Technical Accounting group within Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting is responsible for preparing and filing the quarterly, annual and other financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); works closely with Qualcomm’s business units and corporate functions to determine and document the proper accounting treatment of complex and/or new types of transactions; and undertakes projects such as assisting the business units and corporate functions with acquisitions, dispositions, the implementation of new accounting guidance, etc.
This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.• 5+ years of Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Requirements:
5+ years of technical accounting experience, including at least 3 years in public accounting and remaining experience in technical accounting and/or external reporting position. CPA (if candidate does not yet have their CPA, we would want them to be committed to getting it).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting,
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience in a high tech industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized, accurate and detail-oriented
Proactive and motivated to succeed
Aptitude for systems (e.g., WDesk, Oracle, HFM) and accounting process flows
Experience with application of US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Knowledge of iXBRL requirements
Experience with SOX 404 requirements and SOX controls environment
Experience with digital and transformational applications and tools
