About the role
Overview
Responsible for assisting the Director in the overall maintenance of infant and toddler preschool classroom.
Responsibilities
- Should be able to take initiative, be cooperative, and be flexible and work toward the growth and development of the children in the classroom.
- To provide support to the Lead Teacher by providing care and teaching to the children.
- Ensure their safety and emotional well-being at all times.
- Work enthusiastically with children, helping to instill positive values.
- Responsible for writing progress reports on the children.
- Responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans.
- Perform related work as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) Infant, Toddler, and Preschool certified.
- Minimum of a CDA (Child Development Associate) or equivalent.
- Completion of a three (3)-credit course in Child Growth and Development.
- Must have or be enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree program (annual reports must show continuous progress).
- At least one (1) year of experience working in an infant/toddler preschool setting.
- Ability to work independently in a multicultural setting.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
