About the role

Located in a historic neighborhood in the nation's capital, Georgetown offers rigorous academic programs, a global perspective, exciting ways to take advantage of Washington, D.C., and a commitment to social justice. Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.

Requirements

Tradition. Innovation. A superb faculty. Hundreds of course offerings — and all of this just steps away from the Capitol and Supreme Court. Georgetown Law is an exceptional institution in an enviable location. Students come here from all over the world to study international or tax law, environmental or health care law (just a few of our specialties). They come here for our top-ranked clinics. Most of all, they come because this is the place where theory and practice meet. At Georgetown, students learn the law in the place where laws are made.

The Program Coordinator for LL.M. Adjunct Services, in the Office of Academic Affairs, Law Center, plays an important role in providing consistent, professional front-line customer service to a large, prominent, professional group of adjunct faculty who have unique needs for support as they are not on campus frequently. The Program Coordinator will focus on providing support to over 600 adjunct faculty teaching experiential and non-experiential courses. The work will include:

  • Facilitate the rehiring and onboarding process for over 300 LL.M. adjuncts, including preparing, keying in, and issuing over 300 appointment letters.

  • Provide in-person support to adjunct faculty as they prepare to teach and carry out teaching and grading responsibilities.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for adjunct faculty inquiries related to administrative issues.

  • Provide adjunct faculty data to internal and external constituents, as appropriate.

  • Manage communications to adjunct faculty and adjunct office reservations, assisting with implementing and standardizing office procedures related to adjunct services.

  • Update the adjunct virtual office page and provide course scheduling assistance and front desk support.

  • Perform other duties as required to support the mission of the Academic Affairs office.

Work Interactions
The Program Coordinator or Academic Affairs will report to, and work closely with, the Executive Director, Adjunct Services, who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our large adjunct program. The Program Coordinator will also carry out their responsibilities in close partnership with the Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs, the Program Coordinator of J.D. Programs, and the Assistant Directors for the J.D. and LL.M. Academic Programs, who manage the course scheduling process for all adjunct faculty. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be a key member of the Academic Affairs team, and will collaborate with numerous staff across both the J.D. and Graduate programs as well as other Law Center departments including, but not limited to, the Office of Employment Services, the Parking Office, the GOCard Office, IST, and the Library. Finally, the Program Coordinator will work closely with our hundreds of adjunct faculty in the J.D. and LL.M. Programs, and will often be their first point of contact at the Law Center.
