Geosyntec has exciting opportunities on projects across Southeast Florida for a Construction Manager to join our geotechnical engineering and construction management practice, managed by our South Florida operations in Boca Raton, Florida. This position also offers the option to work in a hybrid setting at the discretion of the Company. This position is well-suited for highly motivated, experienced individuals who are interested in managing high profile construction projects involving large civil/geotechnical water storage and conveyance infrastructure including, but limited to: canals, reservoirs, stormwater treatment areas (STAs), pump stations, gates, weirs, dikes, dams, levees, barrier walls, and dredge material management areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement, interpret and apply technical specifications, construction drawings, and work plans;
• Lead project construction meetings, providing updates on construction activities, identify potential construction problems and delays, and contractor schedules;
• Review, respond and process contractor submittals;
• Prepare and effectively manage and convey change orders (CO), field orders (FO), and value engineering (VE) proposals delegated under client authority.
• Prepare detailed responses to contractor requests for information (RFIs), and requests for clarification (RFCs) to the contract documents in a timely manner;
• Maintain time and production records, analyze construction schedules and critical path management (CPM), and monitor construction progress with respect to scheduling and CPM tasks;
• Effectively communicate proposed design modifications to the Engineer-of-Record in a timely and professional manner;
• Review, track, and process contractor pay requests and cost loaded schedules on a timely basis;
• Prepare reports, work plans, health and safety documents;
• Prepare progress meeting agendas and meeting minutes in an orderly and timely manner;
• Review and edit field documentation including proposed corrective actions to address substandard or non-compliant workmanship or materials;
• Develop and prepare sampling plans, testing schedules, and detailed test data summaries;
• Review field and laboratory test results for accuracy and compliance with the project specifications;
• Assist with the verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout/commissioning;
• Establish, organize, and maintain field offices to ensure accurate, secure, and well-organized project records;
• Identify project staffing requirements and prepare and maintain on-site personnel schedules to meet project deadlines;
• Interact with project personnel including contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients to cultivate an integrated team approach through open lines of communication and participation in work progress meetings; 
• Implement and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in  site-specific project health and safety plans (HASP) and the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures; and
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma and eleven (11) years of relevant heavy civil construction management experience (15+ years preferred), an associate degree or a college diploma and a minimum  nine (9) years of applicable experience (15+ years preferred), or a bachelor’s degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related subjects, or a Florida General Contractor’s License and a minimum of seven (7) years of applicable experience (15+ years preferred), or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, ability and constructi
